The CBA’s experienced executive leadership team supports the advocacy work of the CBA and determines the strategy for achieving public policy objectives that contribute to a sound, thriving banking system that works for Canadians.
Lead by President & CEO, Anthony G. Ostler, the executive leadership team is responsible for advancing the Association’s annual strategic plan and providing leadership for the CBA’s diverse teams. The team includes:

Anthony G. Ostler is President & Chief Executive Officer of the ÒõAPPµ¼º½. As President and CEO, he advances the perspectives of the banking sector to all levels of government, regulators, stakeholders, media and the public. In this capacity, Anthony plays a strong role in the development of public policies on financial services that contribute to a sound, successful banking system that benefits Canadians and Canada's economy. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the International Banking Federation (IBFed), a forum that addresses issues affecting banking around the world.
Before joining the CBA, Anthony was Senior Vice President, Head of Stakeholder Engagement in Global Marketing at State Street Bank & Trust Company in Boston. Also at State Street, he held the roles of Senior Vice President, Client – Global Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice-President, Head of Investor Relations. Anthony has broad experience in senior positions in Canada at Manulife Asset Management, Manulife Financial, Canaccord Financial and RBC.
Anthony is an Associate of the Institute of Canadian Bankers (AICB), a chartered financial analyst (CFA), a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM), and earned his MBA with Distinction and the Ivey Scholar honour from the Ivey Business School of the University of Western Ontario. He received the Ivey Distinguished Service Award for extraordinary service to the Ivey Business School, is the past Chair of the Board of the Ivey Alumni Network and a past member of the Ivey Advisory Board. Anthony served as a board member of buildOn Boston and has taken up several leadership volunteer roles in support of social services organizations in B.C. and Ontario. Since 2022, he has served as a member of the United Way of Greater Toronto’s Community Campaign Cabinet.

Krista Derksen, Vice President, Talent Management
Krista Derksen is responsible for all aspects of talent management for the Association. This involves leveraging the CBA’s unique culture, people and relationship capital to produce high impact results for the organization and its members.
Geneviève Grenier, Vice President, Finance & Corporate Operations
Geneviève Grenier is responsible for all financial and operational matters of the Association as well as the Information Technology team and Offices Services.
Darren Hannah, Senior Vice President, Financial Stability & Banking Policy
Darren Hannah leads the Association’s policy development and advocacy efforts in the areas of personal and commercial banking regulation including personal and commercial lending, deposit-taking, housing finance, financial stability and taxation.
Laurie Lupton, Senior Vice President, Strategy, Marketing & Communications
Laurie Lupton leads the team responsible for strategic planning and driving the development and execution of the CBA’s integrated marketing and communications campaigns to advance the CBA’s strategic priorities. She is also responsible for the Association’s brand reputation and corporate image and leads the CBA’s financial literacy initiatives.
Marina Mandal, Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning, Engagement & Analytics
Marina Mandal leads the Association’s strategy to ensure member engagement and satisfaction, including data analytics and oversees the CBA’s strategic planning.
Angelina Mason, General Counsel & Senior Vice President, Legal & Risk
Angelina Mason is the lead legal advisor to the Association. Angelina has responsibility for the in‑house legal team and has carriage of legal‑led policy files including consumer and privacy, and non-financial risk policy files including AML/ATF, cyber, and operational risk. She also oversees the Financial Crimes team and is responsible for the CBA’s corporate governance and regulatory compliance programs.
Dan Ouimet, Senior Vice President, Government Relations
Dan Ouimet leads the team responsible for the oversight of the federal and provincial policy and political environments as they relate to Canada’s banking sector, providing strategic advice about advancing effective public policies that contribute to a strong banking system that benefits Canadians and our country’s economy.
Andrew Ross, Senior Vice President, Payments & Digital
Andrew Ross leads the team responsible for digital and payments policy files at the Association.
His policy responsibilities cover wholesale and retail payments and the broader payments ecosystem, and advocacy related to the digitalization of banking.
